Post-secondary Testing

The SAT and ACT are college entrance exams designed to evaluate a student's academic potential and achievement. Typically, colleges and universities do not have a preference as to which test a student takes. Many schools will “super score.”  This means the admissions panel is reviewing all testing attempts collectively.  They will combine the highest math score with the highest verbal score, regardless of whether those results came from the same testing session.  An admissions officer always looks for a student’s highest potential.

For students who do not meet the minimum SAT/ACT requirements for their school(s) of choice, the COMPASS may be required.

Students who meet Fee-Waiver Eligibility are entitled to limited fee waivers for SAT and ACT testing. Students can receive two fee waivers for the ACT and two fee waivers for the SAT during their junior or senior year. Before registering for the test, students should visit the counseling office to obtain these fee waivers.
